Shares of almost 950 companies are traded at the Baku Stock Exchange, Acting Chairman of BSE Management Board Vugar Namazov told reporters in Baku Mar. 9.
“Today bonds, shares, repurchase agreements (repo) and derivative financial instruments are traded on the stock exchange. Naturally, shares rank the first in terms of trade volume,” said Namazov.
“Meanwhile, we have a rather active bond market. Everyone remembers how successful SOCAR bonds’ issuance was. Currently, we see an increasing interest in the bond market,” he added.
According to the BSE, the total turnover of stock exchange transactions on all tools amounted to more than 1.05 billion manats in January 2017 that exceeds the indicator of January 2016 by more than six times.
The volume of government securities market was 39.78 million manats (an increase by 25.9 percent during the year), corporate securities market – 641.51 million manats (an increase by 106 times), derivative financial instruments market – 372.48 million manats (an increase by 2.7 times).
