Azerbaijan increased goods import from Georgia to $18.5 million in January-February 2017 as compared to $10.1 million in the same period of 2016, says a report of Georgia’s National Statistics Office.
The share of Azerbaijan in Georgia’s exports was 5.2 percent versus 3.6 percent in January-February 2016. As of February 2017, Azerbaijan ranked the sixth among countries importing Georgian products.
Georgia mainly exports pipes, iron alloy and other products to Azerbaijan.
A major part of Georgian goods, worth $58.9 million (specific gravity of 16.6 percent), is exported to Russia. Russia is followed by Turkey with more than $35 million (9.9 percent) and Bulgaria with $29.45 million (8.3 percent).
According to the report, Georgia’s trade turnover with Azerbaijan amounted to $146.04 million in January-February 2017.
The specific gravity of Azerbaijan’s trade turnover with Georgia is 10.3 percent of total volume of Georgia’s foreign trade operations.
