Top-10 Azerbaijani insurers’ payments exceed 69M manats

Payment of claims by Azerbaijan’s 10 major insurance companies amounted to 69.06 million Azerbaijani manats in January-April 2017, said the Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FIMSA) in a report.

The figure accounts for 91.7 percent of all the insurance payments for 2016.

Ateshgah Life Insurance leads the ranking in terms of the payments in January-April 2017. The company’s share of the total payments was 31.33 percent. Payments of Ateshgah Life Insurance totaled 23.6 million manats in January-April 2017.

PASHA Insurance ranked the second in the list with 10.28 million manats (13 percent), being followed by PASHA Life Insurance – 10.11 million manats (13.42 percent).

In January-April 2017, all insurance companies operating in Azerbaijan collected 192.17 million manats in premiums, which is by one percent less than in the same period of 2016.

Payments of claims by the Azerbaijani insurance companies reached 75.3 million manats during the period, which is by 12 percent more than in January-April 2016.

Twenty-one insurance companies operate in Azerbaijan.
