Uzbekistan Airways sees passenger transportation increase in 1H17

Uzbekistan Airways, the flag carrier airline of Uzbekistan, transported 1.22 million passengers in January-June 2017, which is 4.3 percent more than in the same period of 2016, the airline’s press service has reported.
Since the beginning of 2017, the airline has carried out 11,160 flights, as compared to 10,671 flights in January-June 2016, which indicates a 4.6 percent growth.
The traffic of freight, including baggage and mail, increased by 26.4 percent and totaled 24,800 tons.
Uzbekistan Airways is wholly owned by the state. The airline carries out flights to more than 20 cities in Europe, the US, Middle East, Asia, 22 cities in the CIS, and to 11 domestic destinations.
