By Huseyn Hasanov– Trend:

Turkmenistan has resumed geological exploration on hydrocarbon fields, country’s State News Agency reported.

Geological exploration is aimed at studying the structures on the depths of up to 7 kilometers, according to the report.

Recently, 3D seismic survey with the use of modern equipment and software has been carried out at the Goturdepe field in the west of Turkmenistan.

It is planned to hold 3D seismic survey at the Barsagelmes field on the area of 345 square kilometers next.

Moreover, 2D seismic survey will be carried out in the Darja territory, which covers 870 linear kilometers, according to the information.

The North Goturdepe field, where a new layer of oil was discovered at the depths of more than 4,000 meters, is an example confirming that seismic surveys could be prospective. Ultra-deep well (7,150 meters) was drilled on the Uzynada area located in the Caspian region.

As a result of the geophysical survey and according to the data collected during the testing of the well, an industrial inflow of natural fuel was obtained in the range of 6,689-6,695 meters.

According to the preliminary estimates, productivity of the well is 500,000 cubic meters of natural gas and 150 tons of gas condensate per day.
