A tender will be announced in Istanbul on Sept. 21 for creating a cableway, reads a message from the Istanbul city council.
The cableway will run across the city's historical places, which attract the most attention of tourists.
“The cableway will transport about 500 people per hour,” the message said.
The cableway will be built in 14 months after holding a tender and is expected to be commissioned in late 2018.
The first cableway in Turkey was built in 1963 in the province of Bursa.
