Azerbaijan exported goods worth $7.22 billion in January-August 2017 that is by 12.6 percent less than in the same period of 2016, according to a report of the country’s State Customs Committee.
The share of state sector in export totaled $5.69 billion, private sector – $1.39 billion, individuals – $143.32 million.
Azerbaijan mainly exported oil and oil products, gas, plastic and plastic products, as well as fruits and vegetables in January-August 2017.

During the period, import totaled nearly $5.3 billion, which is by 4.22 percent less than in January-August 2016. Some $697.52 million accounted for the state sector share in import operations, and $4.32 billion – for the private sector, $279.25 million – for individuals.
Azerbaijan mainly imported various machines and mechanisms, vehicles, ferrous metals, plastic and timber during the reporting period.

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade operations decreased by 9.24 percent and amounted to $12.52 billion in January-August 2017, as compared to the same period of 2016. The surplus in the reporting period amounted to $1.92 billion, which is 7.7 times more than in January-August 2016.
