Astana sees big surge in internal passenger flow

The passenger flow on internal aviation routes to Astana grew by 90 percent, said the Minister for Investment and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kasymbek during the Regional Symposium on Training of Aviation Specialists.

“Kazakh aviation demonstrates certain positive moves in recent years. The geography of flights is being expanded, the economic indicators of the industry are growing, as well as the demand for air transportation,” said the minister, Kazinform reported.

Along with internal flights, the number of flights in foreign directions has also increased by 30 percent.

“Today, the Civil Aviation of Kazakhstan has important targets, including modernizing airports, improving aviation transit technologies, and renewal of the country’s aircraft fleet. But the most important object is to prepare specialists.”

The minister stressed that the qualified staff is a key point for the growing economic indicators of the area.
