Turkey eyes to set up body issuing Halal certificates

Turkey plans to establish a state body issuing Halal certificates, the country’s Ministry of Economy told Trend.
A corresponding bill was prepared and submitted to the parliament for consideration, reads the ministry’s message.
The state body will become the sole authority in Turkey entitled to issue Halal certificates, and may also open offices outside the country.
Halal certificates are currently issued in the majority of countries.
For Muslims, Halal is a trademark given to products that do not contain such components as pork, carrion or blood.
