A significant increase was noted in the segment of taxi transportation in Kazakhstan. The number of citizens using the taxi services has increased by 10.2 percent during the first eight months of 2017. That means that currently more than 2.8 billion passengers prefer taxi services.
“The market of taxi services develops and becomes more technologically advanced. For instance, the consumers can now use the application "CompareTaxi", which allows to compare prices of various taxi services,” Kazakh Energy Prom said in a message.
The structure of the market is also changing. Recently the two largest taxi services – Yandex Taxi and Uber announced the merger of businesses in Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia and a number of CIS countries.
The market also presents different benefits for the users, including the reduction of prices for trips from the capital airport of Kazakhstan from October 1.
The passenger turnover of the industry also increases by 12.5 percent, which is 31.1 billion pkm (passenger-kilometres), according to January-August 2017.
