Turkish Transport Ministry eyes to recycle old aircraft

It is planned to recycle decommissioned aircraft in Turkey, a source in the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of the country told Trend Oct. 17.

Currently, there are 25 decommissioned aircraft in Turkey’s airports, according to the source.

“Of them, 20 aircraft are at the Istanbul Ataturk Airport, four at the Ankara Esenboga Airport and one in Erzurum Airport,” the source noted.

At the same time, the source didn’t disclose the date for the start of recycling of the decommissioned aircraft.

According to the information of the Turkish Directorate General of Civil Aviation, there are currently 525 passenger and cargo aircraft in the country.
