Azerbaijan exported goods worth $8.14 billion in January-September 2017 that is by 13.4 percent less than in the same period of 2016, according to a report of the country’s State Customs Committee.
The share of state sector in export totaled $6.49 billion, private sector – $1.5 billion, individuals – $150.95 million.
Azerbaijan mainly exported oil and oil products, gas, aluminum and aluminum products, as well as fruits and vegetables in January-September 2017.

During the period, import totaled nearly $6.18 billion, which is by 0.5 percent more than in January-September 2016. Some $822.6 million accounted for the state sector share in import operations, and $5.04 billion – for the private sector, $319.97 million – for individuals.
Azerbaijan mainly imported various machines, vehicles, ferrous metals, plastic and timber during the reporting period.

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade operations decreased by 7.9 percent and amounted to $14.32 billion in January-September 2017, as compared to the same period of 2016. The surplus in the reporting period amounted to $1.97 billion, which is 5.8 times more than in the same period last year.
