Ziraat Bankasi, a Turkish state-owned bank, may acquire 100 percent of shares of Uzbekistan’s UTBANK, the Turkish media reported Oct. 24.
Ziraat Bankasi aims to enter Uzbek market in 2018.
In early September, an agreement on Ziraat Bankasi’s purchasing a 50-percent share in Uzbekistan’s UTBANK was reached during the visit of Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Kuchkarov to Ankara.
Currently, 479 companies with Turkish share, including 199 joint ventures, operate in Uzbekistan.
