Kazakhstan increases grain production

Kazakh farmers produced 22.94 million tons of grain on 15,311 hectares of harvested areas as of October 30, the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan said in a message.

The mentioned hectares make up 100 percent of all harvested areas in the country.

The average yield during the mentioned period amounted to 14.4 centners per hectare.

Meanwhile, farmers harvested 14,174 hectares of cultivated areas in 2016, which amounted to 92.7 percent of total harvesting areas of the country. The output was 21,506 tons of grain, with the average yield of 15.2 centners per hectare.

Currently, the territory of harvesting areas of Kazakhstan is 15,311 hectares, which is 22.2 hectares more, compared to the same period of 2016.

The growth of the agriculture production in Kazakhstan is due to the government’s program on development of agricultural sector of the country, allocating loans on favorable conditions, and expanding the cultivated areas.
