Revenues from service to foreign airplanes increases in Turkmenistan

A total of 1,666 airliners landed in and refilled in the airports of Turkmenistan in the first 10 months of 2017, wrote Neytralniy Turkmenistan newspaper.

Workers of national air carrier Turkmen hava yollari earned $40 million for service to foreign airplanes, which is up by $25 million as compared to 2016.

"Turkmen hava yollari has achieved such record indices for the first time," the article reads.

Local specialists note the increased interest in use of air space of Turkmenistan for transit flights and airports of Turkmen hava yollari for refilling.

The Ashgabat airport was provided with modern airline landing equipment made by THALES company.

That enabled to increase many times the number of airlines flying over and refilling in the territory of the country this year.

At the same time, air carriers fulfilled roughly 2,000 international flights and over 4,400 domestic flights from Ashgabat since the beginning of 2017.

In general, Turkmen hava yollari carries out 18 international and 11 domestic flights.

As many as 1,620 passengers and 11,400 tons of cargo have been transported since the beginning of the year. Economic indices of air transportation rose considerably.

Growth rate of cargo transportation and post deliveries increased by 30.6 percent in the first nine months of 2017, while profit was up by 52.3 percent.
