The Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) creates new opportunities for Azerbaijan, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Belgium, Fuad Isgandarov, told Euractiv Nov.29.
Isgandarov stressed that Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy signed very important document on TEN-T.
“After the launch of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, after starting such a big project together with our neighboring countries, we are becoming a main transport hub between Europe and Asia. So, this document is crucially important for us,” he added.
The document was undersigned in Brussels Nov.24.
The Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) is a network which comprises roads, railway lines, inland waterways, inland and maritime ports, airports and rail-road terminals throughout the EU Member States.
This characteristic is a key factor for the network's efficient, safe and secure operation, using seamless transport chains for passengers and freight. It builds on existing and planned infrastructure in these States which has been identified on the basis of a single methodology and which has to comply with common requirements/standards.
