Prices on utilities increase in Kazakhstan

Prices on utilities in Kazakhstan show the largest increase during the last 5 years. The cost of housing services, as well as tariffs for water, electricity, gas and heating increased by 8.1 percent in November 2017, compared to December of the previous year.
In the same period of previous year, prices on utilities in Kazakhstan increased by 6.9 percent, Kazakh Energy Prom reported.
After reaching a growth peak in 2013, tariffs for basic housing services slowed down significantly in 2014. However, a year later the growth rate accelerated again.
Prices on for water, gas and central heating increased the most. The cost of water increased by 14.9 percent in 11 months of 2017. Gas tariffs increased by 10.6 percent during the mentioned period tariffs for central heating increased by 9.6 percent.
