Prices on meat increase in Kazakhstan

Prices on beef in Kazakhstan increased by 17 percent during 10 months of 2017, compared to the same period of 2016.

At the same time the production level of beef increased by 8 percent in January-October 2017, Kazakh Energy Prom reported.

In 10 months local meat producers supplied the domestic and foreign markets with 197,600 tons of meat and meat products, which is 2.1 percent more than in the same period of the previous year.

The largest volumes of meat and meat products were produced in Kazakhstan’s Almaty region – 55,800 tons (more than 28 percent from the total amount of meat, produced in the country).

The top three meat producing regions also includes East Kazakhstan (37,100 tons, 16.6 percent more than in previous year), and Akmola region (18,800 tons, 41.2 percent more than in the previous year).

Average price on beef in Kazakhstan in December 1,400 tenge ($4.7) per kg.
