Azerbaijan’s portal interested in co-op with Turkish, Russian e-commerce platforms

Azerbaijan’s Azexport portal is interested in cooperation with Turkey’s Hepsiburada and Russia’s Yandex Market e-commerce platforms, Zaur Gardashov, head of Azexport portal, told Trend.

He said that Azexport portal’s connecting to these platforms requires solving technical issues, which may take time.

Presently, the Azexport portal’s database is integrated with the databases of such large e-commerce platforms as eBay, Alibaba, Allbiz.

It was earlier reported that the applications for supplying Azerbaijani non-oil products worth $444.6 million in January-November were accepted via Azexport portal. The applications were received from 71 countries.

The applications worth $47.3 million were received in November, which is 14 percent more than in the previous month ($41.5 million).

Russia is leading in terms of the total volume of applications for 11 months of 2017. Thus, 18.4 percent of all applications accounts for Russia, following Turkey (7.1 percent of applications), Ukraine (5.8 percent), India (4.5 percent) and the US (4.2 percent).

The applications from Kuwait, the Central African Republic, Syria, Hungary and Macedonia were received for the first time via portal in November 2017.

Azexport portal was created in accordance with the president’s order ‘On the creation of a unified database of goods produced in Azerbaijan’ dated September 21, 2016.

The portal aims at providing information on Azerbaijani goods and a favorable platform for their sale on foreign and domestic markets.
