Kazakhstan ups gold output

The production of raw gold and semi-processed gold, or in powder form, was 85,029 tons in 2017 in Kazakhstan, the Statistics Committee of the National Economy Ministry of Kazakhstan said in a message.

The growth for the year amounted to 13.8 percent.

In the reporting period, the volume of production of raw and semi-processed silver, or in powder form, was 1,058,605 kg, which is by 10.8 percent less than a year ago.

Gold production in Kazakhstan is expected at a stable level in the communing 20 years.

The gold reserve of Kazakhstan increased in August 2017 by 1.9 tons and amounted to 280.9 tons. Thus, Kazakhstan ranked 20th in the list of countries that own gold, according to the World Gold Council.
