Uzbek chemical facilities reduce production of mineral fertilizers

The volume of commodity production in Uzbekistan by facilities of Uzkimyosanoat JSC (a company operating in chemical industry) increased in value terms by 17.4 percent in 2017 compared to 2016 and amounted to 2.7 trillion soums, the company told Trend.

The output of mineral fertilizers in physical terms decreased by 5.3 percent and amounted to 1.14 million tons, in this volume, the output of nitrogen fertilizers decreased by 10.5 percent to 854,800 tons, phosphate fertilizers - by 20.1 percent to 119,100 tons, while the output of potash fertilizers grew 21.7 percent to 168,000 tons.

In accordance with the production localization program at the facilities of Uzkimyosanoat JSC in 2017, the output valued 166.5 billion soums, which is 1.9 times less than in 2016.

Last year, facilities of the Uzbek chemical industry drew $331.4 million, which is 10.2 percent more compared to the previous year.

In particular, it is planned to complete construction of a complex worth $500 million for the production of polyvinyl chloride, caustic soda and methanol this year at Navoiyazot JSC.

In 2019, it is planned to finish construction of a complex worth $986 million for the production of ammonia and urea at the same facility.
