Turkmenistan reveals data on execution of state budget

The revenue part of Turkmenistan’s state budget in 2017 was executed by 101.8 percent, while the expenditure part – by 96.4 percent, Batyr Bazarov, the country’s minister of finance and economy, said at a government meeting, Turkmenistan State News Agency reported Jan. 27.

In 2017, construction of numerous facilities was carried out, 48.5 percent of which were of industrial, and 51.5 percent - of social and cultural purposes, he noted.

During the reporting period, the Turkmen state budget received 71.1 million Turkmen manats through privatization of 49 facilities, he added.

“In accordance with the indicators of 2017, the volume of investments received from financial organizations of foreign countries increased by one and a half times,” he said.

Under the Law on state budget for 2017, adopted by the Turkmen parliament, the state budget revenues were approved at 103.57 billion manats, and expenditures – 104.87 billion manats.

The official exchange rate of the Turkmen manat against US dollar has remained unchanged since January 2015 ($1 = 3.5 Turkmen manats).
