The main directions of Kazakhstan's economic policy in 2018 will be preservation of macroeconomic stability, provision of a favorable business climate, development of economy's sectors, and development of transport and logistics infrastructure, said Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Timur Suleimenov at a government meeting on Tuesday.

The minister added that preservation of macroeconomic stability will be implemented through concerted measures of monetary and fiscal policies, as well as ensuring financial stability, Kazakh media reported.

Suleimenov also stressed that the Kazakh government will prepare a new package of systemic measures to radically improve business climate, in particular, simplification of tax administration.

"We will start the implementation of a new Code on Subsoil and Subsoil Use to ensure the replenishment of the country's mineral resource base, developing a set of measures to improve approaches to extracting minerals through introduction of information and technology platforms," the minister said.

He added that in 2018 modernization of oil refineries in Kazakhstan will be completed, which will provide the country with high quality K4 and K5 gasoline (fuels that meet Euro 4 and Euro 5 standards).
