Taxes Ministry of Azerbaijan may reduce the number of inspections, Azerbaijani Minister of Taxes Mikayil Jabbarov said.
"We can reduce the number of tax inspections and will do this. But this step does not mean weakening the control system. Tax inspections should be carried out remotely, using innovative tools such as a tax risk management system," Jabbarov said at the "Taxes. Transparency. Development" conference in Baku Feb. 13.
He said the ministry aims to achieve a trust in relations between tax authorities and taxpayers.
"But transparency must be respected not only by tax authorities; businesses must also comply with obligations. The state expects the entrepreneurs properly compile accounts and fulfill their obligations in exchange for a favorable business environment created in the country. The principle is simple - observe the law and you will not face tax authorities," Jabbarov said.
