Azerbaijan exported goods worth $1.04 billion in January 2018 that is by 29.1 percent more than in the same period last year, according to a report of the country’s State Customs Committee.
The share of state sector in export totaled $942.85 million, private sector – $92.62 million, individuals – $3.23 million.
Azerbaijan mainly exported oil and oil products, gas, fruits and vegetable, plastic and plastic products in January 2018.

During the period, import totaled $688.63 million, which is 53 percent more than in January 2017. Some $164.32 million accounted for the state sector share in import operations, and $488.17 million – for the private sector, $36.14 million – for individuals.
Azerbaijan mainly imported various machines, vehicles, ferrous metals, plastic and wheat during the reporting period.

Azerbaijan’s foreign trade operations increased by 38.4 percent and amounted to $1.73 billion in January 2018, as compared to January 2017. The surplus in the reporting period amounted to $350.08 million, which is 1.3 percent less than in the same period last year.
