Turkey to create 5 industrial zones

Turkey will create five industrial zones, which will contribute to the development of the country’s economy, a source in the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology of Turkey told Trend Feb. 19.

The total territory of five industrial zones will be 3,000 hectares, according to the source.

“Industrial zones will be created on the east and west coast of the Black Sea, as well as on the coast of the Mediterranean, the ​​Marmara and the Aegean seas,” the source said.

The source added that the integration of nearby seaports with the industrial zones is provided in the abovementioned regions.

The creation of five industrial zones in these regions will also contribute to the growth of employment, according to the source.

“It is expected that the annual income from industrial zones’ operation in Turkey will be 250 billion liras ($66.532 billion as of Feb. 19),” the source noted.
