The Uzbek president has signed a decree on the introduction of new rules for the export of goods through the Internet and the implementation of e-commerce from June 1, 2018.

The document reads that business entities will be able to export goods, works and services through electronic trading platforms on the Internet. They are not required to conclude an export contract, and the bank commission for the export of goods (works, services) will not be charged.

However, this order does not apply to certain goods, the list of which will be determined by the Government.

Furthermore, the turnover of goods sold by business entities through the use of e- commerce is considered retail trade regardless of the volume.

Currently, the implementation of e-commerce wholesale trade involves compliance with relevant legal requirements for this type of activity. In particular, there is a need to obtain a license, as well as certain taxes.

The development of e-commerce is an important component of large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years. An important legal basis is the laws "On Informatization", "On electronic payments", "On electronic digital signature" and "On Electronic Commerce", which gave a powerful impetus to the development of the sphere and creation of entrepreneurial activity via Internet.
