Government of Uzbekistan obliges producers of alcoholic beverages and tobacco products to support the fund for the development of physical culture and sports under the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan, starting from June 1, 2018.

The amount of fees is indicated in the decree of the Uzbek president Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The amounts paid by relevant business structures to support sports will depend on their sales volume. Producers of beer should transfer 2 000 soums ($0.24) per each sold decalitre (10 liters), vodka producers - 5,000 soums ($0.6) per decilitre.

The tobacco producers, in turn, are obliged to pay 1,000 soums ($ 0.12) per 1,000 cigarettes sold.

In addition to these fees, the sources of the foundation for the development of physical education and sports are formed by state budget funds, sponsorship contributions from charitable organizations, private entrepreneurs, individuals and legal entities, including non-residents of Uzbekistan.

The Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan will allocate 20 billion soums ($2.45 million) from the state budget to the fund for the development of physical culture and sports in early 2018.
