Kazakh-Russian company reduces rail transport costs

Joint Kazakh-Russian company Astyk Trans lowers the cost of wagon-transportation services in the direction of Iran, Afghanistan, China and Mongolia by 20 percent starting from March 12, the press service of Astyk Trans said in a message.

"In order to increase the flow of goods and realize the export potential of Kazakh grain, the Astyk Trans joint-stock company decided to reduce the cost of wagons by 20 percent from 12 March 2018," the message said.

In December 2017, Kazakhstan exported 258.900 tons of flour, according to the Kazakhstan Railways’ data. The same indicator amounted to 136.800 tons in January 2017.

Export of grain in January 2018, in turn, amounted to 830,000 tons, increasing by 39.700 tons, or by 5 percent, compared to the previous month.
