Tajikistan has launched producing some new import-substituting industrial goods.
“In the 1Q2018, new import-substituting industrial goods, such as dry gypsum plaster mix (Rotband), aluminum fluoride, sulfuric acid, cryolite, coagulant, light brick were produced," the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan said on May 4.
Local enterprises and foreign investors raised roughly 75.5 million somoni to create new production, import technological equipment and expand production assets in the industry.
The ministry emphasizes that 25.8 million somoni was allocated to introduce new technologies in the food industry, 16.8 million somoni in engineering, defense and chemical industries, 14.1 million somoni in the coal industry, 14 million somoni in the light industry, and 4.8 million somoni in the sphere of building materials.
As many as 26 new industrial enterprises and workshops were built and commissioned in the 1Q2018, providing permanent jobs for 217 people.
Rotband is the trade name of the dry gypsum plaster mixture produced by the enterprises of the German Knauf group of companies.
Aluminum fluoride and cryolite are mainly used to produce aluminum.
Sulfuric acid is the most important industrial chemical and the cheapest of the acids produced in high-volume in any country in the world. It is used in production of fertilizers, metallurgy, oil refining, paint, pigment and semi-products for dyes, soap and detergents, natural and man-made fibers.
Coagulants are used to perform primary water purification.
Porous or lightweight bricks are made of alumina with the addition of burnable impurities. Used for internal and external wall cladding, construction of interior partitions. Heat-resistant types of the product are suitable for construction of fireplaces and stoves.
