Azerbaijan plans to increase export of dairy products, Executive Director of Azerbaijan's Association of Producers and Exporters of Milk and Dairy Products (ASEB) Samir Eyyubov told Trend on May 11.
He said that presently, Azerbaijani producers export diary products abroad, particularly to Russia. But still, it is necessary to increase the export volume.
"To this end, processing companies need to update the technology, and they are upgrading it now, also through the state support. Farmers also need support; it is necessary to reduce the production so that the prices for milk do not rise above the world average. Because, without this Azerbaijani dairy products will not be able to compete on foreign markets. That is, sufficient processing capacity of enterprises using new technologies, coupled with sufficient milk production in the country is precondition for growth," he said.
The experience of foreign countries, particularly Belarus, will be used in this process, he said.
ASEB was established on Jan. 26, 2018. Currently, it unites 20 companies, and talks underway with new companies.
