Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran, Rodrigo de Azeredo Santos, said his country is willing to cooperate with Iran in urban transportation services.

Brazil’s experience and capabilities in the sector of urban transport services can help Iran modernize its fleet, Santos said on May 28 in a meeting with Mansour Moazzami, head of Iran's Development and Renovation Organization, in the capital, Mehr news agency reported.

He added that the South American country is determined to enhance its cooperation with Iran in this field and that a consortium of Brazilian firms is ready to help.

Moazzami, for his part, said Iran is also ready to cooperate with Brazilian firms to modernize its urban transportation fleet.

The two sides further agreed to continue their expert-level talks and reach a final cooperation model.

In April, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, heading a ranking political and economic delegation, visited Brazil to enhance cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.

His entourage in the trip included representatives of tens of companies and entrepreneurs in various fields from both the state-run and private sectors.
