Uzbekistan Airways intends to start using planes only from Boeing and Airbus within the framework of the new development concept, Uzbek media reported.

The Uzbek air carrier plans to expand the fleet with two Airbus A320 Neo aircrafts in December, and two new Boeing 787 Dreamliners in the 2H2019.

According to the information, the expansion of the fleet is carried out in accordance with the company's development strategy and the program for the modernization and unification of aircraft.

The A320 Neo liners are purchased in a two-class layout for 150 seats (business class – 12 seats, economy class – 138 seats). They are 20 percent more economical than their predecessors thanks to new engines and modern solutions in the design of the fuselage. The flight range of the airliners is increased from 4,500 to over 6,000 kilometers, thus allowing to make direct flights to all countries of the Central Europe.

Uzbekistan Airways currently operates three Boeing 787 Dreamliners. With the receipt of two new Dreamliners in 2019 and six more in early 2020, the Uzbek air carrier will become a leading customer of this type of aircraft among the CIS countries.

The Uzbekistan Airways’ fleet currently consists of Boeing 757/767, Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, Airbus A320 aircrafts and Boeing 767-300BCF cargo aircraft.
