Azerbaijan reveals its non-oil export revenues

Azerbaijani companies exported non-oil goods worth $182 million in May 2018, according to the Export Review published by the Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication on July 3.

Excluding oil and gas, Azerbaijan mainly exported tomatoes ($54.3 million), potatoes ($16.3 million), gold ($14.1 million), polyethylene ($7.7 million) and unprocessed aluminum ($6.5 million) in May2018.

Russia ranks first among importers of Azerbaijan’s non-oil products in May 2018.

In the period, goods worth $87.8 million were exported to Russia, which is followed by Turkey ($27.1 million), Switzerland ($16.9 million), Georgia ($13.5 million) and Netherlands ($6.3 million).

In January-May 2018, Azerbaijan exported non-oil products worth $667.5 million (a 20 percent increase for the year). During the reporting period, tomatoes were the main non-oil product exported abroad.

In January-May2018, Azerbaijan exported tomatoes worth $96.8 million. Tomatoes are followed by electricity ($53.3 million), gold ($48.4 million), polyethylene ($42.6 million) and peeled hazelnuts ($34.1 million).

According to the report, in January-May 2018, Azerbaijan increased exports of electricity (by 3.2 times), fruits and vegetables (by 23.3 percent), aluminum and aluminum products (by 20.4 percent), cotton yarn (by 15 percent), chemical industry products (by 11.4 percent) compared to the same period last year.

Russia ranked first among importers of Azerbaijan’s non-oil products in January-May 2018. In the period, goods worth $223.2 million were exported to Russia, which is followed by Turkey ($154.3 million), Georgia ($65.9 million), Switzerland ($56.5 million) and China ($19.1 million).
