IMF to help Uzbekistan to improve tax administration

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov held talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, Uzbek media reported.

The delegation included the Deputy Head of the Revenue Administration of IMF Fiscal Affairs Department Peter Barrand and the Senior Economist of the Revenue Administration of IMF Fiscal Affairs Department Vincent de Paul Koukpaizan.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan, the parties discussed issues of improving tax administration.

On the part of representatives of the IMF, research works are underway to study the state of the country’s tax policy . The purpose of these studies is development of strategic and tactical solutions, as well as the development of proposals for improving the tax administration of the country.

A number of proposals were made from international experts to set up a bureau for work with large taxpayers, introduce business approaches, modern ICT in tax administration and create working offices in the regions for taxpayers of the standard regime, etc.

Peter Barrand noted that the Road Map for Tax Administration will be presented by the IMF experts in the near future.
