Kazakhstan increased oil and gas condensate production by 6.2 percent to 45.2 million tons in the first half of 2018, compared to the same period of the previous year, Kazakh Energy Minister Kanat Bozumbayev said at the meeting of the government, Kazakh media outlets reported.

"The country produced 27.2 million tons of oil at the three largest oil fields, including 6.2 million tons at the Kashagan field, 14.7 million tons at Tengiz field, and 6.3 million tons at Karachaganak field," the minister said.

Bozumbayev added that the total volume of oil exports from Kazakhstan amounted to 36.5 million tons, which is six percent more than the same period last year.

The government of Kazakhstan forecasts that in 2018 oil and condensate production will amount to 87 million tons. The main drivers of the growth of the country’s oil output are the expansion of Tengiz and Karachaganak oil fields, as well as, increase of oil production at the Kashagan oil field.
