By Leman Zeynalova – Trend:

It is planned to manufacture 30,000 cars in Kazakhstan by late 2018, said the chairman of the Board of Directors of Kazakhstan Association of Automobile Industry, KazAvtoProm, Oleg Alferov.

"Against the backdrop of oil prices, which exceeded the 70-dollar mark in the second quarter, as well as against the background of a stable 4-percent GDP growth in the country, solvent demand in Kazakhstan’s car market continues to grow. The pace of recovery of industry indicators allows us to expect the manufacturing of at least 30,000 cars by the end of this year. This means that the industry will approach the pre-crisis production volumes,” he was quoted by Kazakh media as saying.

Enterprises of Kazakhstan’s automobile industry manufactured 14,660 vehicles worth of 88.3 billion tenges in the first half of 2018, or 67.2 percent more than in the same period last year in physical terms.

Passenger car manufacturing has increased by 76.4 percent, reaching 13,725. Of these, 62.5 percent are owned by AZIA AVTO JSC, and 37.5 percent were manufactured by Saryarka AvtoProm LLP.

Kazakhstan exported 1,548 vehicles in 2017, most of which accounted for China.
