Karaganda region of Kazakhstan attracts investments in production sector

Kazakhstan’s joint stock company (JSC) "ArcelorMittal Temirtau" intends to invest 305 billion tenge in production facilities of Karaganda region until 2020, the press service of the regional administration said in a statement Aug. 15.

So, a road map for development from 2018 to 2020 has been signed by the Karaganda Regional Administration and "ArcelorMittal Temirtau" JSC.

Minister of Investments and Development of Kazakhstan Zhenis Kasymbek, Governor of Karaganda region Yerlan Koshanov, General Director of "ArcelorMittal Temirtau" JSC Paramzhit Kalon have signed a document under the "Road map-2020" program, providing for investment in industrial enterprises of steel, coal and ore departments of "ArcelorMittal Temirtau" JSC in the total amount of 305 billion tenge for the period of 2018-2020.

Some 100 billion tenge, 105 billion tenge and 100 billion tenge will be invested in production facilities in 2018, in 2019 and in 2020 respectively.

The activities will focus on production growth, quality improvement, environment, health, occupational safety and sustainable development. In addition, an increase in cast iron production has been envisaged.

The official exchange rate on Aug. 15 amounted to 363,28 KTZ/USD.
