Kazakhstan has increased gold production by 31 percent, Almas Batanov, Chairman of the Committee for Industrial Development and Industrial Safety of the Kazakh Ministry of Investments and Development, said at a briefing, Kazakh media reported.

"The growth in Kazakh non-ferrous metallurgy production in the first seven months of 2018 was 2.6 percent. It was due to an increase in the production of zinc crude, copper, gold, alumina and bronze."

"For example, Kazakhmys Corporation increased its gold production by 31 percent," Batanov said.

In January-July 2018, the crude and semi-processed or powder gold production amounted to 53,432 kilograms in Kazakhstan, which is 9.7 percent more than in the same period of 2017.
