Uzbekistan increases volume of exports

According to the results of August 2018, Uzbekistan increased the volume of imports by $1.6 billion, which exceeds the figures of the previous month by $243 million, Uzbekistan's State Statistics Committee said in a message.

Since early 2018, Uzbekistan has imported products worth $12 billion (31.2 percent growth), exported - $8.6 billion (4.4 percent growth). The negative balance of foreign trade amounted to $3.4 billion.

During the first eight months of 2018, the main import partners have been Russia, China, South Korea, Kazakhstan and Turkey, which altogether accounted for 61.2 percent of the imports.

Uzbekistan, mainly purchases machinery and equipment (40.1 percent), chemical products (13.4 percent) and food products (9.1 percent).

Uzbekistan's main export partners are Russia and China.

Overall, the foreign trade turnover amounted to $20.6 billion, increasing by 18.5 percent compared to the same period of 2017.
