German industrial giants join Tashkent City project (Exclusive)

Large German companies such as Siemens AG, the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena) energy agency and Kalzip (manufacturer of metal structures) expressed intention to participate in implementation of the Tashkent City International Business Center project, the city administration told Trend.

According to the information, German companies also expressed their readiness to cooperate in construction of new stations of Tashkent Metro in direction of the Yunusabad line. At the same time, the German side has already participated in preparation of tunnels using technology, which accelerates construction work.

In addition, Uzbekistan jointly with the German company ITM-Investment Trade Marketing GmbH has started preparing an investment proposal for production of household detergents.

The Tashkent city administration noted that the relevant agreements have been achieved as a result of the visit of the Tashkent city administration delegation to Berlin at the invitation of Governing Mayor of Berlin Michael Muller.

"The parties discussed cooperation in the sphere of culture, sports, health, education and law and order. The sides agreed to establish direct business contacts between entrepreneurs of the two capitals by organizing their mutual visits, participating in cooperation exchanges, exhibitions and fairs, as well as implementing joint projects," the capital administration said.

In January-August 2018, foreign trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Germany amounted to $458.2 million, $430 million of which accounted for import, $28.2 million – for export.
