Number of Central Asia companies registered in Turkey increases

As many as 74 companies with capital from Central Asian countries (Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan) were registered in Turkey in August 2018, which is by 13 companies more than that in the same period of 2017, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) told Trend Sept. 25.

The report says the total capital of Central Asian companies registered in August 2018 totaled 7.7 million Turkish liras as compared to 3 million Turkish liras in the same period of 2017.

In August 2018, 24 companies with Kazakhstan capital were registered in Turkey, which is 14 more than in August 2017, according to TOBB.

"The total capital of companies registered in August with Kazakh capital was 2.2 million Turkish liras," TOBB said.

TOBB also noted that in August 2018, 27 companies with Turkmen capital were registered in Turkey, which is 5 companies less than in August 2017.

"The total capital of companies registered in August with Turkmen capital amounted to 3.5 million Turkish liras," TOBB said.

According to TOBB, in August 2018, 19 companies with Uzbek and 4 companies with Kyrgyz capital were registered in Turkey.

"The total capital of Uzbek companies registered in August was 1.7 million, and of Kyrgyz companies 372,000 Turkish liras," TOBB said.

The number of companies and cooperatives registered in Turkey amounted to 5,443 and 93 respectively, in August 2018.

Istanbul accounted for 86.42 percent of registered companies and cooperatives.

In January-August 2018, the number of companies registered in Turkey increased by 21.65 percent compared to the same period in 2017.

The number of registered cooperatives in Turkey for the first eight months of 2018 increased by 18.41 percent compared to the same period of 2017.

According to TOBB, the number of closed companies in the first eight months of 2018 declined by 12.32 percent, while the number of closed cooperatives fell by 12.34 percent.
