Azerbaijan intends to open wine and trade houses in the Russian cities of Yekaterinburg, Astrakhan and St. Petersburg, Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev said.
He made the remarks Sept. 27 at an expanded meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia and Russia-Azerbaijan business councils as part of the 9th Azerbaijan-Russia interregional forum.
He said the opening of trade houses is one of the measures for diversifying trade turnover with Russia.
Among other measures, the minister mentioned the opening of the Business Center of Azerbaijan in Astrakhan, the opening of a representative office of the Russian Export Center in Baku, the organization of mutual trade delegations and participation in various exhibitions.
“There are broad prospects in industry, energy, tourism, agriculture, transport, IT and many other areas,” the minister said.
The 9th Azerbaijan-Russia interregional forum kicked off in Baku Sept. 27.
The event is aimed at developing trade, economic and humanitarian ties between the regions of the two countries and will become a platform for joint work of Russia and Azerbaijan, including the relevant ministers, extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of both countries, business communities and experts.
