Iranian and Turkish agricultural officials have agreed to boost their cooperation in the field of greenhouse agriculture.
Iranian Deputy Agriculture Minister Mohammad Ali Tahmasebi and Muhammet Tunc, a Turkish official at the country’s agricultural ministry, held talks in Tehran and explored ways to enhance ties.
“Greenhouse agriculture is a central part of Iran’s agriculture and is top of the agenda,” Tahmasebi said during the meeting, IRNA reported on October 3.
We have focused our attention on saffron cultivation as it needs little water, he added.
We plan to increase our cooperation with Turkey in this field, Tahmasebi said.
Tunc, for his part, expressed hope that Tehran and Ankara could further increase their agricultural cooperation.
The two sides have agreed to expand their ties in the field of greenhouse agriculture and exchange experts and knowledge.
