Uzbekistan and India have signed 29 contracts worth $104.1 million during the Made in Uzbekistan national exhibition and the Uzbek-Indian business forum in New Delhi, the Ministry of Foreign Trade announced.
The events, in which more than 100 representatives of government agencies and business circles of the two countries took part, were organized in the framework of the state visit of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to India.
As a result, the parties signed 28 export contracts worth $102.1 million and 1 import contract for $2 million. Export contracts include agricultural products (dried fruits, legumes, almonds, licorice root), chemicals, and textiles, while one import contract was signed for the supply of construction materials.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan and India have agreed to increase mutual trade to $1 billion.
At the end of 2017, trade turnover between Uzbekistan and India amounted to $323.6 million; in particular the exports amounted to $32.5 million, and imports to $291.1 million.
