By Matanat Nasibova - Trend:

Yalama Agropark has begun to expand the cultivation area for the fodder production near Mukhtadir village (located 25 kilometers off the village of Khudat), the Director of the Agropark Zaur Aliyev told Trend Oct. 8.

The area under crops is 800 hectares here, the director said.

"These territories are presently in unsuitable condition, as they have not been used for 20 years. We began to cultivate these areas, and according to our calculations, it will take at least 5-6 months to fully restore dry areas. In parallel, the construction of an additional bunker silo on the territory of the plant, built in the Yalama Agropark, continues," Aliyev said.

The director noted that the feed production plant operating in the Yalama Agropark is engaged in the production of 13 types of fodder, and is designed to meet the needs of livestock farms in the nearby districts.

The creation of agroparks was launched in accordance with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev's instructions to accelerate the development of the non-oil sector and the use of intensive technologies in the manufacturing sector.

Agroparks play an important role in expanding exports of non-oil products to foreign markets, in creating national brands, forming a coordinated unified system in agriculture, as well as producer-processor-consumer relations, training qualified personnel in the agricultural sector and opening new job opportunities.
