Kazakh Agriculture Ministry says Kyrgyzstan's restrictions on poultry meat import are illegal

Restrictions imposed by Kyrgyzstan on the import of poultry meat and eggs from Kazakhstan’s Almaty and North Kazakhstan regions are illegal, Kazakh media reported referring to the Agriculture Ministry of Kazakhstan.

"No bird diseases have been recorded in the Almaty region over the past 10 years. Quarantine on the Newcastle disease of birds declared in the Aiyrtau District of North Kazakhstan region was lifted on September 19, 2018", the message said.

In this regard, the Kazakh Agriculture Ministry stated that the restrictions imposed by Kyrgyzstan on the import of poultry meat and eggs from the two regions of Kazakhstan are illegal.

"The corresponding letter was sent to the State Inspection on Veterinary and Phyto-Sanitary Security under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic," the message said.
