Iran’s exports to Iraq, Afghanistan surge in 6 months

Over $4.5 billion worth of Iranian goods were exported to Iraq in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 21), a report said.

Some 9,618 tons of goods worth $4.56 billion were exported to Iraq in the first six months of this year, registering a 45 percent rise compared to the same period last year, according to the public relations office of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration on October 22.

Among neighbors, Iraq is the second large importer of Iranian goods.

The value of the Islamic Republic’s exports to Afghanistan over six months also stood at $1.6 billion, registering a 31-percent growth compared to the same corresponding period last year.

Iran exported 3,225 tons of goods to the neighing nation in six months.
