In January-September 2018, the overall output of clothing in Azerbaijan valued 55.6 million manats, which is 1.6 percent more than in the same period of 2017, the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee's report says.
According to the report, the output of leather goods and footwear also increased by 42.7 percent to 17.76 million manats for the year. The output in the spinning industry increased by 53.3 percent to 172.96 million manats.
Spinning industry products, footwear, clothing and leather products worth 246.3 million manats (a 38.8 percent growth for the year) were produced in the first nine months of this year.

The retail turnover of the products of the spinning industry, clothing and footwear amounted to almost 4.76 billion manats during the period, increasing 3.4 percent for the year. Consumers spent about 18.2 percent of their funds for clothing and footwear.
Compared with August, in September, prices for clothing and fabrics increased by 0.3 and 0.1 percent, respectively, while the prices for footwear stayed unchanged. For the year, prices for these products increased by 2.7 percent, 5 percent and 1.3 percent, respectively.
