Economy Ministry of Uzbekistan developed a draft presidential decree "On measures to fundamentally improve the food industry management system", Uzbek media reported.
According to the document currently being under discussion, medium- and long-term programs in the food industry will be developed by the Economy Ministry, whereas marketing research on the domestic and foreign markets for fruit and vegetables will be carried out by the Foreign Trade Ministry.
At the same time, the Ministry of Innovation Development will organize production of modern packaging materials using advanced foreign technologies and design, as well as introducing modern high-performance innovative technologies for processing fruit and vegetables, meat and dairy, and other types of agricultural raw materials into production.
The document also proposes to create Oziqovqatsanoat association, which will unite enterprises and organizations of the food industry on a voluntary basis, instead of the O'zbekoziqovqatxolding food holding.
